The Rabbit Hole @ Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL.

The Rabbit Hole is a really really cool restaurant name is the first thought that came into my head when I stumbled upon it, to be honest. It sounds so mysterious and I was hoping the menu would be filled with fantasy world inspired dishes with even more creative and awesome names. And the place doesn't disappoints, well for me anyway, in fact I love it so much I will be going back again. When I have the budget of course. A month ago, I bought the Rabbit Hole voucher from Groupon because it was just too good of a deal to let
go. Originally the deal was RM60 for RM100 worth of food at the restaurant, but I got it for only RM50 because RM10 was discounted for reasons that I don't even remember anymore. Doesn't matter anyway, got discount. :)

The Rabbit Hole is located in Changkat Bukit Bintang, a place filled with fancy bars, restaurants, and it's an awesome place to just have a drink and chill out in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. This restaurant is themed around the popular works of famous stories such as Alice in Wonderland (Rabbit Hole, get it?) and apparently also The Chronicles of Narnia as described in the Groupon site. But I don't see anything resembles anything out of Narnia while I'm there though. LOL! To make long story short, it's a beautiful place and has a laid back and cosy environment.

So, I asked one of my eating buddy, Fiona, to go try out this place with me and surprisingly this place is easy to locate. It's located at the far end of Changkat and it's a corner restaurant. If you can't find it, just ask around (we did and that's how we found it! haha!)

So good you'll come again and again. That's what she said!

Disturbing but interesting banner. Definitely grabbed my attention. Creative indeed. XD Oh and this is how the restaurant looked like outside. There's also a friendly waiter who would show you to your table.

Princess Fiona from Shrek. Kidding! Or am I? haha!

The Menu.

I really liked the menu. It's for people like me who doesn't like to read. I prefer to look at pictures and then decide what to eat. lol. Why read when you can look at the pictures right? Besides, storybooks with pictures are way more interesting than the one that doesn't have it. *cough*comics*cough*! I've had enough reading from school anyway. XD Oh, for those Harry Potter fans (like us), there's BUTTERBEER sold here. WUT?! Yeah, they have it here for about RM35++ per bottle! Expensive but if you really wanna try it, you don't have to go all the way to Universal Studio Osaka or Orlando. We didn't try it although we really, REALLY want to. :/ Next time.

*droool~~ Everything looks so good

There's a lot of dishes to choose from. From classic continental western food like steaks and fish and chips to fusion food and right back to the local Asian dishes. Unfortunately we can't order everything and we have to choose just 3 dishes including desserts because of well, budget. You can check out the full menu here : The Rabbit Hole Menu

Done ordering. Time to check out the surroundings.

Kinda awesome tiger mural.

The Bamboo Forest area.

Corridor. lol

Apparently all the way down there and to the right there's a room with a bookcase entrance. Sounds so cool! Fiona told me that because while she was looking around, one of the friendly waiter gave her a tour around the place and showed her the room. I didn't get to see it because I was waiting at our table. Lame. haha

After about 15 minutes, our food began to arrived! Yay.

We ordered a virgin Margarita and Strawberry Daquiri. Both of them are good but I prefer the Strawberry Daquiri more because it's sweeter. Like me. *puke!!!* Sorry, just a little comic relief. :)

Le drinks.

Another shot of the drinks because it's pretty. lol

#1 Spanish Tapas Selects
"A platter consisting of garlic oil pan grilled prawns, roasted eggplant cream, parsley potato cubes, octopus in marinara and grilled spicy supreme of chicken. Served with bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar"

-RM38

Beautifully presented.

I ordered this because I've always wanted to know how does tapas taste like? It always looks so damn good whenever I saw it in TV. Tapas is basically appetizers or snacks in Spanish cuisine and there's a wide variety of them. It can be served hot or cold and it come in different and various forms.

Everything tasted beautifully and I imagine it would go very well with drinks.

 Grilled chicken. Yummy

Out of all, the best for us is the roasted eggplant cream. OMG, it's so goooood~~ I can't believe eggplant can taste so good and it's officially my favourite vegetables now. If you were there, definitely remember to try the roasted eggplant cream. I can eat like a bucketful of those. If they served it. :)

#2 Sausage Fest
"Spanish beef, chicken bratwurst and lamb breakfast sausages sliced and grilled to perfection. Served with aioli and dijon mustard."

-RM32

Sausage heaven~

The three sausages that were in there. I think it's Spanish Beef, Lamb Sausage and Chicken Bratwurst. (L-R)

They're all delicious and tasty sausages. No pun intended. Who doesn't love sausages? Dirty mind la you people. I like. :D

A shot of all the food on the table.

Me and Fiona.

The waiters there are damn friendly. They keep offering to help us to take pictures of us with the food and what do I say? Yes please! Usually it's the other way around, me asking somebody to help us to take the pictures but here, no asking is needed, they read my mind. Love it. Awesome waiters and friendly too.

One of the awesome waiter. Kervin who is from Phillipines. :)

#3 Brownie Bombs
"The Rabbit Hole signature crunchy brownie cubes topped with ice cream, chocolate, caramel sauce and roasted almond bits."

-RM18

Pretty~

This is too sweet for my liking. Don't get me wrong, it's delicious but it's way too sweet for me. I prefer savoury stuff over sweets. Sign of getting old. lol. The brownie was good though, it was crunchy and chocolatey. Mmmm, but after a few bite, it's crazily sweet and we can't it. So if you like sweet stuff, this is for you, if you don't there's a few more desserts that you can choose from the menu.

Fancy a round of pool?

The bar area and pool table.

Overall it was a good dining experience. The price of the food is inclusive of tax and that's why we have to plan properly so that we won't ordered too much and ended up having to pay more than we needed to. Honestly we could have ordered more food with cheaper price tags on it so that we can taste more stuff! XD  It's fine though, I had a good time while eating here. Definitely one of the best place to escape KL city if you know what I mean. After dinner we just stayed back and chat and surprised at how the time passed so fast. Before we know it, it's 9 already and we have to leave. Public transportation, that's why. Safety first. haha!

That's it! Toodles and till next time! Have a nice day!
